Guidelines for Active Membership
In accordance with the guidelines, the Applicant shall submit his/her application to the Secretary of Piezosurgery Academy, 3 months prior to the annual Congress.
Applicants can be accepted as Active Members, even those who, as an alternative to a clinical case, conducts research in piezoelectric surgery and produces adequate scientific documentation.
The Secretary of the 'Academy will deliver the documentation submitted by the candidates to the Membership Committee.
Applicants who meet the requirements will be invited to personally present and discuss their proposed documentation (scientific curriculum \ cultural and clinical cases) in front of the Membership Committee. In the event that a candidate is not considered suitable, he may resubmit his/her application.
How to become an Active Member
To qualify as an applicant for Active Membership, please submit the following documentation:
‐ The application must be signed by two Active Members ,who will support their candidate as sponsors, and guarantee the interest of his/her high moral character to the Membership Committee.
‐ Scientific and cultural Curriculum Vitae demonstrating the candidate’s interest in piezoelectric surgery.
‐ Documentation: Please submit 5 copies in English, on three (3) clinical cases, personally treated by Piezoelectric surgery and considered appropriate by the Membership Committee’s protocols and approved by the Board of Directors.
‐ Fifteen days after receipt of the application for admission form, the Secretary will submit your application, along with the attached documentation, to the Membership Committee.
‐ Applications must be received by the Secretary or the President of the Membership Committee, at least 3 (three) months before the National or International Congress.
The Committee shall have the right, within 30 days, to request that the candidate submit additional evidence or clarification, for validation of admission requirements and / or suggest changes to the presentation of cases. The eventual admission of an Active Member, by the Membership Committee, must be successfully ratified at the Active Member’s General Assembly. Within 15 days , the new Active Member shall pay the membership dues or the integration from
Ordinary to Active Member, or risk penalty of immediate termination. The Membership Committee will take into account only complete cases, even when parts of the treatment plan has not been performed by the candidate.
Parts of treatment plan, not carried out by the candidate, must be explicitly indicated by the latter (for treatment of a clinical case is defined as the treatment-rehabilitation of all these problems and not an isolated rehabilitation therapy‐which does not consider the needs of entire oral cavity).
The three cases should be differently oriented, therapeutic and rehabilitative treatments, to give the Membership Committee a better chance of evaluating the candidate’s acceptance.
The Membership Committee shall convene at the National or International Congress to verbally discuss with the Active Member candidate the treatment performed and / or to gain more detailed information and explanations regarding the cases presented.
